For my final i chose to do starry night by Vincent Van Gogh. My plan was to make a tea cup set by first making the cup with 3D swirls and sky and then a plate and a spoon and little 3D houses to put on the plate then adding detail and painting it. I did do the cup with 2 3D swirls and then the plate but i wanted to add more 3D detail and make a little spoon with it but ended up with not enough time to do so, and my piece is bisqueware because i only had time to fire it once, I did my best with the time i had but i do think i could’ve done a little better. Vincent Van Gogh was a prolific Dutch Post-Impressionist painter famous for his vibrant, emotional, and iconic pieces like Starry Night and Sunflowers, he suffered with severe mental health issues which led to his death at his young age of 37 and became famous and was celebrated after his death. I chose him for my artist because me and my whole family have always loved his work and i think his story is very emotional and important to share, and I chose to do his piece starry night which he painted in the psychiatric hospital because i think its a very emotional classic piece of his and ive just always been drawn to it.
